Many members of the group attended the 2018 Nuclear Materials conference (NuMat 2018) organized in Seattle from October 15th to 19th. Cody Falconer presented on “Corrosion of Hastelloy-N in Molten Fluoride Salts” and Prof. Couet presented on “Modeling High-Temperature Corrosion of Zirconium Alloys Fuel Cladding Using X-FEM with BISON”. In addition, other students had the opportunity to showcase their research during poster session: Michael Moorehead (“Exploration of High-Entropy-Alloy Composition Space via High-Throughput Synthesis and Characterization for Ion Irradiation Applications”), Zefeng Yu (“Irradiation induced Nb redistribution in ZrNb alloys and its effect on corrosion kinetics: an Atom Probe Tomography study”) and Calvin Parkin (“Investigation of Radiation Damage Mechanisms in High-Entropy Alloys using Heavy-Ion Irradiation”).
