The lab took part in the 2018 ANS Annual Meeting from June 17th to the June 21st in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Jake Quincey attended the Materials Science and Technology Division executive meeting to begin his term as an executive board member. Kelsy Green attended the meeting and received the Walter Meyer Scholarship for graduate students. Cody Falconer won the ANS – Nuclear Fuels and Structural Materials poster session competition for his poster on the Investigation of Materials Corrosion in Molten Fluoride Salts. For winning this award, Cody is invited to present his work at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) where he will also have a chance to tour ORNL’s facilities and network with research staff. Michael Moorehead and Calvin Parkin presented their current work investigating different compositions of high-entropy alloys for next-generation sodium-cooled fast reactors.
