UW-Madison’s Molten Salt and Next-Gen Reactors Meeting

In April of 2018 UW-Madison hosted a nationwide meeting centered around molten salts and next-gen nuclear reactors featuring collaborators from UC-Berkley, Texas-A&M, industry partners, and the Department of Energy (DOE). The meeting functioned as a 6 month checkpoint into a three year, $3 million project called Nuclear Science Technology and Education for Molten Salt Reactors (NuSTEM) funded by the DOE. UW-Madison professors Raluca Scarlat, Kumar Sirdharan, and Adrien Couet played key roles and Materials Science and Engineering graduate student Cody Falconer organized the event.
