Junliang Liu graduated his PhD in Materials from University of Oxford in 2019, with his thesis High Resolution Structural Analysis of Irradiated Zirconium Alloys. Before joining UW-Madison, he worked as postdoctoral research fellow in the University of Oxford for 3.5 years focusing on environmental degradation of nuclear zirconium alloys and high entropy alloys. He is knowledgeable on and uses variety of analytical techniques including transmission Kikuchi diffraction (TKD), Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Plasma-FIB, Nanoindentation, EELS, EDX and NanoSIMS..
