Nick is a PhD student in MaDCoR studying Nuclear Engineering. His work focuses on radiation damage of metals, including beryllium and low-density compositionally complex alloys (CCAs) for high energy particle accelerator beam windows, as well as fusion-relevant refractory CCAs. He has also worked to construct a thermal conductivity microscope for the Ion Beam Laboratory to provide rapid measurements of alloys’ thermal conductivities prior to and following ion irradiation.
Nick received his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame. In his free time he enjoys playing volleyball, has recently joined the pickleball bandwagon, and carves spoons.
